Nikos Apostolopoulos, PhD

Founder & director

Nikos obtained his PhD in Muscle Physiology and Inflammation from the University of Wolverhampton (UK). As the founder of Stretch Therapy™ and microStretching® Nikos has dedicated the past 30 years to its development. He has lectured and worked internationally as a consultant and therapist to various sports organizations and federations. He has a true passion for what he does and genuinely enjoys seeing people benefit from gentle stretching. He enjoys cycling, and reading various types of books in his spare time.

Michael Chemello, BSc, ATC

co-director

Michal graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He developed a passion for both microStretching® and Stretch Therapy™. He is a firm believer in the power of gentle stretching for physical, mental, and emotional well being. He also has a devotion for the field of Athletic Training (Therapy), hockey, golf, and health & wellness.

Renata Szado, M.Sc.PT, B.Sc. (Kin), CGIMS, FCAMPT

Clinical Advisor

Renata is a practicing physiotherapy clinician and Lead Collaborator with a rehab wearables technology company. She specializes in optimizing injury recovery, for the general public to the elite athlete. Her vision is to make excellence the standard of care for injury and prevention and believes we can do this by changing the way we implement rehabilitation. On her spare time she likes to cycle, run and travel.

Dr. Jack Taunton MSc, MD, Dip Sports Medicine (CASEM), MCFP (SEM), FACSM

Clinical Advisor

Dr. Jack Taunton is a Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Medicine, Division of Sports Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He is very involved in clinical and exercise medicine research with a keen interest in overuse injuries, injury prevention, concussion in sport and cardiac disease in athletes. Jack enjoys walking and spending time his wife and grandchildren.

James Gardiner, MSc., CAT(C), CSCS, Hatha Yoga practitioner -- Founder & Practitioner, FIRSTAR Therapy

Clinical Advisor

James is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Yoga Instructor. He holds a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. He has held positions as a head athletic trainer in the Blue Jays’ system, a rehab coordinator role at York University and various therapy, conditioning, and sports injury rehab roles, including working within the York University Athletic Therapy program, and as a performance consultant with the University of the Bahamas. James coaches athletes on performance wellness so they can grow and access more of themselves in sport and daily life.

Dr. Sean Abdulla -- Clinic Director | Sports Specialist Chiropractor | Assistant Professor

Dr. Sean Y. Abdulla completed his post-secondary education at Wilfrid Laurier University where he attained a BA (Hons) in Kinesiology and Phys-ed. He went on to complete a Masters in Neuroscience and Biomechanics at York University. Dr. Abdulla’s strong interest in manual care, sports injuries, orthopedics and rehabilitation led him to pursue a career in chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). He completed the 4-year Doctor of Chiropractic program, graduating with Clinic Honours. Upon graduation, Dr. Abdulla was accepted into the prestigious CMCC Sport Sciences Residency Program to complete 2 additional years of specialty training towards a Fellowship from the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada). Dr. Abdulla is currently the clinic director at Eikonic Health and Wellness and a faculty member at CMCC.
